Performance Training Starts with a GREAT Foundation
I am not a professional trainer, not by far! However, I love competing in various dog sports - conformation, agility, field, obedience/rally, you name it! I love the training process. Often I struggled with many of the sports I competed in because I had a lack of foundation skills on my dogs. I learned the hard way that foundations are EVERYTHING!
Many of these foundation skills cross over to different dog sports. Some are exclusive to one sport, and some are just plain fun to train (i.e. trick dog testing). No matter what you decide to do, even if you never compete, you will never regret taking the time to build that bond with your dog.
Below are a random sampling of some videos I made while training my dogs. Some might be helpful to watch, some might just be pure entertainment. I loved every minute of training, even the frustrating moments!
"A medium-sized gray dog, with fine aristocratic features. He should present a picture of grace, speed, stamina, alertness, and balance. Above all, the dog's conformation must indicate the ability to work with great speed and endurance in the field."
