Develop your puppy's brain, and develop your bond through training
I am not a professional trainer, not by far! But I do LOVE training puppies and watching their brains and thinking processes develop. A thinking puppy will make a great companion or competition dog, because a dog that knows how to work WITH you and FOR you will always be easier to train. There is really no limit to what you can train your dog to do, as long as you have the time and the patience.
Every dog will train at a different rate, just like people. Figure out what motivates your dog, and work with that. It takes time to get a dog used to working with you, so if you haven't done much training up to this point, be patient and look for the tiny steps of progress.
There are tons and tons of YouTube videos out there on shaping training, take advantage of the wealth of knowledge at your fingertips! Below are some videos of my puppies to give you some ideas and hopefully inspire you to go TRAIN! The bond developed between you and your dog will be amazing, and you will never regret the time spent. If you get frustrated, stop and do something else for a while (some dogs require new lessons to "simmer" for a time before they really get it). Most of all, have fun!
"A medium-sized gray dog, with fine aristocratic features. He should present a picture of grace, speed, stamina, alertness, and balance. Above all, the dog's conformation must indicate the ability to work with great speed and endurance in the field."
